Police stop and searches under terror legislation have always been controversial. New data shows that the figures are down. Find out what it says

The number of people stopped and searched under anti-terror powers dropped off dramatically last year, new figures from the Home Office show today.

Across Great Britain in the year ending September 2009, 200,444 people were stopped under Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000, a 12% fall on the previous year.
