contact blog: Make multimedia projects! a quick guide part 1

OK with my new(ish)found love of multimedia, I wanted to share with you some excellent pointers for putting together these projects. There’s some fabulous resources out there and I suggest you start with these! This post is all about how to get together you raw material, I’ll post later in the week on editing it all together.

Firstly you’re gonna need to record sound probably. Interviews and ambient sound really bring a project alive. Mediastorm’s 3 part guide on gathering audio can be found here. It’s an excellent thing to read first, not too detailed and outlines some of those basic things you may have been worrying about. Part two is probably the most useful techy bit. Some of it is really straightforward but it’s full of good pointers that you might not think of in the heat of the moment.

Apple have put together this on field recording which is more detailed, there’s a whole load of examples to get you starting to listen properly and there’s also a section in this series on the kinda kit you might want.
